Screening is an important test to identify early detection of cancer before you are symptomatic. The three national screening programmes in New Zealand are for breast, cervical and bowel cancer. Workplaces are in a unique position to support and encourage their eligible employees to screen. By doing so, they are contributing to a caring and supportive culture, with the likely benefits of screening including improved staff health and decreased risk of early death due to cancer related illnesses.
