Influenza immunisation is the best way to protect yourself and your whānau this winter season.
Best practice to minimise the spread is keeping up good hand sanitation. Workplaces can support this by providing sanitizer, soap and paper towels and ensuring this is well stocked. Make sure this is visible and near entry and exit points at your workplace. Also, keep surfaces cleaned daily especially for frequently touched areas like door handles, staffroom tables and benches, and handrails
Other ways to avoid the flu:
· Wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds, and dry them for 20 seconds – or use an alcohol based rub
· Do not share drinks
· Avoid crowded places
· Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze
· Consider wearing a face mask if you feel particularly susceptible to infections
If you are unwell stay at home until you are completely free of symptoms.
